Our garden was overrun with all shapes and sizes of cucumbers. Here's Courtney (I think) holding a 15 incher named "baby" (it's a girl!) Gary wanted to use every single cucumber that he raised. However, this one was carried around in loving arms all afternoon by the girls, never cut up, and will die a normal death.
Last week Danielle and Gary made sweet relish and this week we did dill pickles.
Here's the results of an afternoon's work with a pickle mix that doesn't require weeks in a crock of cucumbers turning sour. They are actually very tasty and it was easy.
The final test...yummy!
Next is bread and butter pickles, peaches, and blackberries. That's optimistic, I know. But we won't give up until everything is canned, pickled, or jammed.
