Check out the signs using English words. Some make no sense; some are not relative to the business. Just see what the phone company and the convenience stores have to offer. And I am happy to say that my leftovers are well covered in the frig and that the box of wafers doesn't leak. Perritons have a contract to have their house cleaned, not built. And initials for the 7-11 store make perfect sense...ConVenience Store. Notice the logo for our apartment complex. Actually it is very clever. Do you see two ways in which they have initials for Familie Apartments? Others speak for themselves. How did that McDonalds get in there? We've been there. It's not the same.
Also they often use English words but pronounce them with a Korean twist, such as "paenti" (a woman's underwear), "seuweteo" (sweater), or "haendeupon" (hand or cell phone.)
However, they say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so we are honored that they like to use our language.
